An immersive audiovisual installation for U-108 SPACE in Taichung by CHENG WEIZHI, BILLAIN and JIAYU LIU: 360° wall and circular floor projection with a 16.2-channel sound field, imagining a future Taiwan where Drum & Bass meets a Cyberneuro visual language.程威誌、BILLAIN 與劉家禹為台中 U-108 SPACE 打造的沉浸式視聽展演：360° 環景牆面與圓形地面光雕、16.2 聲道空間音場，呈現融合 Drum & Bass 與 Cyberneuro 視覺風格的未來臺灣。

MODULE U108 is an immersive audiovisual installation planned for U-108 SPACE in Taichung by three ROBOTOFU members — animation director CHENG WEIZHI, music director BILLAIN, and line producer and technical director JIAYU LIU. The project is in development.

Concept

Three artists from different countries met online; their science-fiction short FUGITIVE went on to collect 33 international awards and selections (as of February 2026). Now they move from the network into physical space, turning the U-108 room into a “module”: travelling around Taichung for material, building installations from local inspiration and objects, and performing their vision of the land’s future.

BILLAIN performs a live DJ set in 16.2 channels, CHENG WEIZHI builds the visuals as 5,596 × 5,596 high-resolution animation, and JIAYU LIU integrates the space with light, sensors and multiple projectors — an experience across disciplines, media and cultures.

Technical plan

360° wall and circular floor projection using nine 4K and 2K projectors; four 2K projectors cover the circular floor, blended and switched in TouchDesigner. Sound is handled in Reaper and SoundGrid as a 16.2-channel field with Ambisonics spatial audio.

Software: Cinema 4D, Blender, TouchDesigner, FL Studio, OBS.

《MODULE U108》是 ROBOTOFU 三位成員——動畫導演程威誌、音樂導演 BILLAIN、執行製片暨技術總監劉家禹——為台中 U-108 SPACE 規劃的沉浸式視聽展演，目前正在開發中。

計畫構想

三位來自不同國家的創作者因網路相識，合作的科幻短片《FUGITIVE》在國際影展累計 33 項獎項與入選（截至 2026 年 2 月）。這一次，他們從「網路」（network）走進實體空間，把 U-108 展間化為一個「模組」（module）：在台中巡旅取材，以當地的靈感與物件創作裝置，並演奏出他們對這塊土地未來的想像。

BILLAIN 以 16.2 聲道進行 DJ 現場演奏，程威誌以 5,596 × 5,596 高解析度動畫建構視覺，劉家禹以燈光、感測器與多台投影機完成空間整合，呈現跨界、跨域、跨文化的視聽體驗。

技術規劃

360° 環景牆面與圓形地面投影，共使用 9 台 4K 與 2K 投影機；其中 4 台 2K 投影機負責圓形地面，透過 TouchDesigner 進行畫面融接與影片切換。聲音以 Reaper 與 SoundGrid 處理 16.2 聲道音場與 Ambisonics 空間音訊。

使用軟體：Cinema 4D、Blender、TouchDesigner、FL Studio、OBS。

03Art direction美術風格參考

Drawn from the team’s earlier environment design: future public transport, a cemetery arch formed by robot and human arms, housing blocks and highways hung with Taiwanese signs and lanterns, a robot world with charging stations instead of restaurants, Sarajevo’s HUM TV tower and a vast broken Buddha in the distance.

延續團隊過往的場景設計：未來的大眾交通工具、由機器與人類手臂構成的墓地拱門、掛滿臺灣招牌與燈籠的住宅區與高速公路、沒有餐廳只有充電站的機器人世界，以及塞拉耶佛 HUM 電視塔與遠方被破壞的巨大佛像。
